Tapeworms in Cats

Tapeworms are parasites that infect various animals such as cats and dogs. Tapeworms are parasites which inhabit the intestines of our furry companions. Cats are prone to these parasites because tapeworms are transmitted when the host consumes fleas. For example if a cat is grooming and ingests a flea, the cat can become infected with tapeworm. Therefore the best way to protect cats from tapeworm is by using flea prevention, if a cat is infected with tapeworm it is recommended to take it to the veterinarian for an exam and treatment.
